Bath Time Fun

I got this great idea from Dayna over at The Sparkling Martins. We mixed food coloring and water and froze into ice cubes. I'm thinking next time that we might use more food coloring and less water. Regardless...Kieran loved them! Even after going through 3 trays worth he wanted more. Some of the colors bled into the others while in the trays, but Kieran didn't seem to mind one bit. :)
I think we'll be doing this again tomorrow since it was such a hit!

Then we had some fun with the colander!

Being silly!

We also went to the teacher store today and picked up some fun educational things for the boys. A couple books...one about Egypt and one about Reefs, a word search and hidden picture book and a United States puzzle for N. Some foam Nuudles, a little play thing with cars, boats, airplanes for K as well as cookie cutters for Play Doh.

I had the Nuudles when Nevin was real little and he loved them! He still does and Kieran had a great time playing with them tonight.

Did the food coloring stain their skin or the tub at all? We are redoing our bath and will be repainting out cast iron tub. I would love to try it. thanks for posting

I haven't noticed any staining yet. We've done this 3 times so far. Just be sure to wipe it down afterwards. He even got it all over the bathroom floor while playing in the sink and we didn't have any staining. Have fun! :)

Hey Melissa!
Glad you liked the idea and that your kids enjoyed it! Ivy saw the pictures and said, "Is that us?". I told her that you got the idea from the picture of her on our blog. She said "Cool".

::chuckle:: Mom + digital camera + blog = bathtime pictures of kids for the whole world to see.

Come on, ya know your mom would have done the same thing if she'd had a blog. It's a mom thing. My mom still has bathtime pictures of me that she sometimes brings out when I bring guests to her home. We had it easy when we were kids though, because blogs hadn't been devised yet.

(My mother is a technophobe, and I'm a nudist now, so this is all a moot point for me anyway.)
