Kieran Loves Mommy's Hair

If it weren't for him I would have cut it off a long time ago. It's sweet, really. He has to play with my hair while nursing. It's also the only way he'll fall asleep. He says "want hair". He takes a bunch in his hand and brushes it along his cheek, like a paint brush. He also likes to just hold it in his fist. It's touching, really BUT it kills my neck! My hair isn't long enough to sit upright. No, he yanks my hair down to him! So, I'm letting my hair grow out so that it will make things easier on my poor neck. I know, know...but it's so sweet and means so much to him. It's a great comfort to him and for that...I'll grow my hair out as long as it takes.

Crap. I still need to get a dress for my cousin's wedding. I need to respond to my friends myspace message. Is the lid on the sandbox? Do I tell people too much information? I need a new bra. I somehow have to get Kieran sleeping better at night. What the heck am I doing awake? My room is a mess. We really need to get the family room finished, a well as getting the deck and kitchen fixed up. Will this all be done in time for Kieran's birthday party? I don't think it will.
This and many more thoughts are what were weighing on my mind at 4am! I ended up not falling back to sleep until 7am...only for Kieran to wake me up at 7:25. Why do I wake up in the wee hours of the morning and stress over everything?

My Mother's Day Gift

A lilac bush! I've been wanting one for years. We had a huge one or two in our backyard growing up. Lilacs are my favorite flower. The scent is intoxicating! I just wish they'd last a little longer. They are already starting to go away. But they will be back next year!!!

Dishes

We've been slowly loosing our dishes. We've actually never bought dishes before. We are still using the ones that had been passed down to us. But over time with some breaking here and there and losing some...we are down to 2 plates and two bowls...I think that's right. So we are really needing some new ones.
I was browsing around Etsy and found these! Are they not the coolest? They are a bit pricey but I love that we'll be supporting another vegan and I love that the dishes say vegan on them! Awesome. We'll be getting these slowly over time though. If we do decide to get them. They are a little expensive for us. A little here and a little there. Until we have a whole set. All different colors. I can't wait! You can check everything out here.

Skinny Bitch

This is a great book, from what I've read so far. These girls do not sugar coat anything. And may seem a bit harsh(though I found them funny). I seriously recommend this book to everyone, don't let the cover and title fool you. Even if you don't want or need to lose weight and even if you are a dude. This book has so much information about what you eat and the truth about what most of us put into our bodies. It's for open minded people...not the ones that say "oh, don't tell, me, I don't want to know, I'd rather stay ignorant!" Ugh...my biggest pet peeve by the way.
So check it out! And if you know me personally...I'll be happy to pass it along as soon as I've finished reading it. Just met me know. :)

I Scrapped!

We had a great time in Florida and can't wait to go back someday! I'll post all about with some pictures very soon, but for now...here are 2 Layouts that I just finished.

This one has lyrics from the song The Circle Game by Joni Mitchell:

Yesterday a child came out to wonder
Caught a dragonfly inside a jar
Fearful when the sky was full of thunder
And tearful at the falling of a star
And the seasons they go round and round
And the painted ponies go up and down
We're captive on the carousel of time
We can't return we can only look behind
From where we came
And go round and round and round
In the circle game

Then the child moved ten times round the seasons
Skated over ten clear frozen streams
Words like, when you're older, must appease him
And promises of someday make his dreams
And the seasons they go round and round
And the painted ponies go up and down
We're captive on the carousel of time
We can't return we can only look behind
From where we came
And go round and round and round
In the circle game

Sixteen springs and sixteen summers gone now
Cartwheels turn to car wheels thru the town
And they tell him,
Take your time, it won't be long now
Till you drag your feet just to slow the circles down
And the seasons they go round and round
And the painted ponies go up and down
We're captive on the carousel of time
We can't return we can only look behind
From where we came
And go round and round and round
In the circle game

So the years spin by and now the boy is twenty
Though his dreams have lost some grandeur coming true
There'll be new dreams, maybe better dreams and plenty
Before the last revolving year is through
And the seasons they go round and round
And the painted ponies go up and down
We're captive on the carousel of time
We can't return, we can only look behind
From where we came
And go round and round and round
In the circle game
