Play Date

Today was a fun day. We had a play date! Shannon and Gwen came over. I love seeing the little ones interact. Kieran seems to be interacting more and more lately. I still need to work on him with sharing, though how many 2 year old love to share all the time? Haha. And I always enjoy good conversation.

Nevin is loving his skate camp! Today he came home all sweaty. He worked hard out there, learning new tricks and all. I always love hearing about his days. The only thing he's bummed about it that the 2 counselors that have been there every year aren't there this year. But he seems to be liking the new guys!

I made a new layout!
I took a picture of it and it's a bit crooked, not the actual LO...just the picture of it. I thought this paper was perfect for it. I can't believe how young Nevin looks. It doesn't seem that long ago!

I Scrapped!

We had a great time in Florida and can't wait to go back someday! I'll post all about with some pictures very soon, but for now...here are 2 Layouts that I just finished.

This one has lyrics from the song The Circle Game by Joni Mitchell:

Yesterday a child came out to wonder
Caught a dragonfly inside a jar
Fearful when the sky was full of thunder
And tearful at the falling of a star
And the seasons they go round and round
And the painted ponies go up and down
We're captive on the carousel of time
We can't return we can only look behind
From where we came
And go round and round and round
In the circle game

Then the child moved ten times round the seasons
Skated over ten clear frozen streams
Words like, when you're older, must appease him
And promises of someday make his dreams
And the seasons they go round and round
And the painted ponies go up and down
We're captive on the carousel of time
We can't return we can only look behind
From where we came
And go round and round and round
In the circle game

Sixteen springs and sixteen summers gone now
Cartwheels turn to car wheels thru the town
And they tell him,
Take your time, it won't be long now
Till you drag your feet just to slow the circles down
And the seasons they go round and round
And the painted ponies go up and down
We're captive on the carousel of time
We can't return we can only look behind
From where we came
And go round and round and round
In the circle game

So the years spin by and now the boy is twenty
Though his dreams have lost some grandeur coming true
There'll be new dreams, maybe better dreams and plenty
Before the last revolving year is through
And the seasons they go round and round
And the painted ponies go up and down
We're captive on the carousel of time
We can't return, we can only look behind
From where we came
And go round and round and round
In the circle game

My Scrap Style

The challenge over at Scrap Garden is to use a letter in your name to define your scrap style.

Well, I have 3 S's in my name(including my last name here) and my scrap style is simple, simple, simple!

Even when I try to jazz it up it comes out pretty simple(other than a few rare, busy layouts) but that's okay with me! I LOVE simple layouts, with nice clean lines. I feel like it draws more focus to the photo's.

Okay, so I can now say it...Happy Spring! Though it doesn't feel very springy. It's 33 degrees, raining and gloomy. It will get better though!

We found a homeschool group in our town. We had no idea there was one so close. We've been driving all over for homeschool activities and here this was right under our noses...though it was a bit under the radar. So yesterday we met up with the group for a 2nd time. They meet at our community center. They can swim, play basket ball, ping pong, there is a cool indoor park with a huge twirling slide...all kinds of fun stuff and the kids are very friendly and welcomed Nevin so well. They have science fairs, art fairs(missed those)and have a history fair coming up. Nevin gets to choose anything he wants and make a project about the history beind it. It's going to be so fun! So, we're happy about that.

I need to start on my Round Robin layout for Scrap Garden. Hopefully tonight!

Well Hello!

Well, I'm back. I had a blog here years ago and forgot all about it. But, here I am once again!

You may see many typo's along the way...thats because I'm often breastfeeding my baby and typing one handed...often with my left hand (like right now lol).

Let me tell you a little about myself.
I'm a SAHM, homeschooling Mom to 9 year old Nevin and 6 mos old Kieran (both boys). I'm 29 years old (as of Jan 11th) married to my best friend, Josh (30) and love to scrapbook! My 2nd home is at Scrap Garden...hanging out with my garden girls! I'm vegan and live (to my best ability) a cruelty free life. I'm an Attachment parent and try to live a healthy, natural lifestyle.

Well, thats me in short! :)
